From Data to Drug: The New Biotech Stack

The Life Science VC Day provides a curated platform for this purpose, bringing together the most relevant players in the ecosystem and positioning emerging technologies within the framework of the modern biotech stack.

This year’s contributions are structured around the three layers of the modern biotech stack: AI & Computational Discovery, Automation & Enabling Technologies, and Applications & Translation. Together, they illustrate how new technologies interact across the entire biotechnology value chain.

The startup presentations are further complemented by keynotes and expert contributions from industry and academia, offering perspectives on developments at the intersection of artificial intelligence, laboratory automation, and biotechnology. In addition, a dedicated panel discussion provides a platform for exchanging views on investment opportunities, technological trends, as well as regulatory and intellectual property-related topics.

The program is developed in collaboration with strong partners from the life sciences ecosystem. In addition to the event initiators, Heuking, the Life Science Valley Growth Fund, and the Life Science Factory, we aim to bring together experts from the Sartorius ecosystem, leading industry companies, and the Creative Destruction Lab as contributors to the program. Heuking will also contribute its expertise in intellectual property and patent law, providing valuable insights into the legal and strategic aspects of innovation and commercialization.

The Life Science Valley Growth Fund supports young life science companies throughout their growth journey and helps startups in fields such as biotechnology, medical technology, and digital health transform research into real-world applications. The fund was established by Sartorius AG, the State of Lower Saxony, and the University Medical Center Göttingen to jointly foster innovation and strengthen the regional ecosystem.

At the Life Science Factory, biotech innovators find everything they need to transform their ideas into investment-ready and marketable solutions: state-of-the-art fully equipped laboratories with comprehensive support services, regulatory expertise, and access to a network of life science experts. Its mission is to strengthen the research and development of innovative technologies with a clear application focus, while providing scientists with the environment and support needed to take their first entrepreneurial steps beyond academia.
